Association Membership
You are invited to join our newly formed Association dedicated to preserving the beauty and wellbeing of the countryside in Canillas de Aceituno and surrounding areas, which is currently under threat from proposed waste recycling and landfill projects. Together, we can ensure our voices are heard.
We welcome everyone who cares about preserving the natural beauty and safety of our area, whether you want to be actively involved or simply show your support through membership.
Our strategy combines evidence-based arguments, expert partnerships, and community-driven action to challenge this project effectively. By standing united, we believe we can protect our valley for current and future generations.

Our Mission and Goals
Our mission is to safeguard the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and ecological integrity of our valley and its surrounding areas. We are committed to ensuring that this unique environment is preserved for future generations through proactive engagement, legal oversight, and sustainable community practices.
We envision a future where the valleys and landscapes we cherish remain unspoiled by environmental harm, serving as a sanctuary for biodiversity and a source of inspiration and well-being for our community. By fostering a shared appreciation for the valley’s diverse cultural and natural heritage, we aim to unite the community in preserving its beauty while ensuring transparency and accountability in local governance.
We have very simple goals through which, our Association seeks to create a legacy of environmental responsibility and resilience that will benefit our community for generations to come:
- Preventing Safety Risks or Environmental Damage: Actively opposing projects and initiatives that pose a threat to the public or environment, including those that may lead to pollution, habitat destruction, or significant ecological disruption.
- Advocacy for Transparency: File formal requests under access-to-information laws to obtain project details and push for greater public awareness and consultations as part of approval processes for local developments or projects impacting the community

Send us an email ([email protected]) with your name, DNI/NIE, address and email address requesting to join us. Legally we need these details, but they will be kept secure and confidential.
We ask for a small membership fee of 5 euro to ensure we can be as inclusive as possible, but request larger, voluntary donations to help fund legal fees, and professional expenses (for example the Environmental Study). You can transfer the membership fee and / or voluntary donations to:
