Questions still to be answered
Although the town council has now declared that they will no longer support the project to build the waste recycling and landfill in our beautiful valleys, there are many questions the town council need to answer. We have not been told the truth by the mayor on several occasions and we will pursue honesty and transparancy to ensure the same level of secrecy and lack of transparancy does not lead to similar projects in the future.
Why did the mayor declare multiple times that he had no knowledge of the waste recycling and landfill project when his signature appears on documents related to the project dated 2019?
Why has no evidence of the denunciation of the illegally built roads been provided despite a promise from the mayor to provide it?
Why have we been consistently refused access to public information despite a legal right to see documents?
Why was the same BOJA related to a water investigation for the project provided to Protejacanillas by the town council declaring it was new when it had already been discussed with the mayor several weeks earlier?
Why were we not informed of the plenary session when we had requested the information several times?
Why are the town council refusing to answer any further questions on this project and their clear involvement 5 years ago?
Investigation
Why was it such a secret that an investigation was apparently carried out into the compatibility of the project with the interests of the town? We had asked multiple times for the mayor’s support and were told categorically that nothing could or would be done until the project had been submitted to them by the Junta de Andalucía. However, days after it was exposed that the mayor’s signature was found on project documents from 2019, a full investigation had apparently been done and the project declared not compatible.
How is this possible, and why did they not openly tell us that is what was happening?
